Trackers who set out at first light radio your guide with the gorilla family's location, and within one to three hours of hiking through bamboo and nettle zones on the volcano flanks, you are sitting among them. Your hour with the group — watching juveniles somersault off a silverback's back, mothers nursing, and sentries surveying the mist — is worth every early alarm. After the descent, a cultural village visit introduces traditional Intore dance and banana-beer brewing. Best use of a single day
