About This Tour
Two days is enough time to touch both of Rwanda's most powerful experiences. The first afternoon is spent at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, whose quiet gardens and carefully curated exhibitions provide essential context for the country you're travelling through. A scenic drive north through patchwork farmland and eucalyptus-lined roads delivers you to Musanze, where you overnight at a lodge with views of the Virunga volcanoes glowing at sunset. Dawn brings the gorilla trek: after a park briefing, you hike into moss-draped Hagenia forest on the slopes of Mt. Bisoke or Mt. Sabyinyo, following trackers until you locate a family resting in a bamboo clearing. Your hour of quiet observation — silverbacks rumbling, infants tumbling, eyes meeting yours with startling intelligence — is the centrepiece of the trip. The afternoon closes with a visit to the Dian Fossey Museum, connecting the morning's encounter to decades of conservation work. You return to Kigali by evening.

Perfect 2-day experience
Saw gorillas and learned about Rwanda's history in just 2 days. Well organized. Lodge was comfortable. Guides were knowledgeable and sensitive about both wildlife and historical context. Great value.
