About This Tour

Queen Elizabeth National Park sprawls across 1,978 square kilometres of savanna, acacia woodland, crater lakes, and papyrus wetlands — an ecological mosaic that supports over 600 bird species and 95 mammal species. The highlight for most visitors is the Ishasha sector, where lions have developed the rare habit of draping themselves across the broad branches of fig trees to escape the midday heat. A two-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel — the natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George — brings you within metres of wallowing hippo pods, Nile crocodiles, and African fish eagles diving for tilapia. Game drives through the Kasenyi plains reveal herds of Cape buffalo, Uganda kob, and elephant, while the explosion crater lakes of the northern sector create dramatic photo opportunities. This 5-day itinerary pairs morning and evening drives with the boat safari for maximum variety, and each night is spent at lodges positioned for sunrise views over the savanna.
