Tour Highlights
About This Tour
Begin in Kibale Forest National Park, home to the highest density of primates in Africa — 13 species share this ancient canopy. A dawn trek with an expert primatologist brings you face to face with a habituated chimpanzee community: hear their pant-hoot calls ricochet through the fig trees, watch them crack nuts with stones, and observe grooming rituals that mirror our own social bonds. Between forests, detour to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for Great Blue Turaco sightings and a string of volcanic crater lakes reflecting the Rwenzori foothills. The safari then continues south through the Albertine Rift to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you trek into dense montane jungle to spend one hour with a mountain gorilla family — fewer than 1,100 remain on earth. Evenings at hand-picked lodges overlooking the park give you time to absorb what you've witnessed, with Batwa cultural performances adding a final layer of understanding to this extraordinary primate journey.

Double the primates, double the wonder
Incredible combination of two different primate experiences. The guides were knowledgeable about both gorillas and chimps. The contrast between their behaviors was fascinating. Loved every moment.
