About This Tour

Mount Kilimanjaro is the world's tallest free-standing mountain and the highest point on the African continent at 5,895 metres. This 7-day expedition follows the Machame Route — nicknamed the "Whiskey Route" for its steeper, more scenic profile — which boasts the highest summit success rates thanks to its built-in acclimatisation days. You ascend through five climate zones in a single week: lush montane rainforest alive with Colobus monkeys, a heather and moorland belt dotted with giant groundsels, an otherworldly alpine desert of volcanic scree, and finally the arctic summit zone where remnant glaciers gleam under equatorial sun. Summit night begins at midnight from Barafu Camp; by dawn you are standing on Uhuru Peak watching sunrise paint the glaciers gold as the shadow of Kilimanjaro stretches across the plains below. A team of experienced guides, cooks, and porters — typically three support staff per climber — handles logistics so you can focus on the climb. Prior mountaineering experience is not required, but strong cardiovascular fitness is essential.

Reached the roof of Africa

Climbing Kilimanjaro was incredibly challenging but one of the greatest achievements of my life. The guides were experienced and supportive. Sunrise from Uhuru Peak was magical. Highly recommend.
